Hollow Lantern

Hollow Lantern is a mood first and a game second, and we mean that as a compliment. You wander a foggy village, light lanterns to reveal paths, and slowly piece together what happened to the people who lived there. The pacing is deliberate and the sound design does a lot of quiet work.

Puzzles are woven into the environment rather than dropped in as obstacles. Solving one usually opens up a new corner of the story, and the writing is restrained enough to leave room for your imagination. We finished it in two sittings and thought about it for days after.
